The Twenty-Pig Wife Story

When I was talking to Kevin following the receiving line, he thought I mentioned something about a dowry. I replied, “You didn’t bring a cow?”

He said, “No, in Indonesia it would be pigs. A bride is worth eight to ten pigs – but I am telling people that I got a thirteen-pig wife.”

 

 

When I sent Kevin a note on Facebook asking for permission to tell that story, he replied that he was wrong.

“Now that we are married, I realize that I have a twenty-pig wife!”
