The Hunters Are Home From West Virginia

Today

Two Deer – A Bobcat – Two Bloodhounds

These first two pictures were taken by the Weiks – owners of D & S Lodge.

Gene & Joram shot the young bobcat (Gene shot it first and asked Joram to help him track it. Joram put the final shot into it.), Denny’s six-point had a broken rack (it would have been an eight-point); Jeff got a four point.

They had lots of fun.

The three successful hunters at Jeff’s house this evening – Gene, Jeff, and Joram. The light area on the deer and bobcat was because someone was helping light the area with a flash light.

Cerwin said this pair got a lot of attention on the drive home today. Some people even opened their car windows and took pictures. They also got a lot of waves and thumbs up.

The Weiks have bloodhound puppies. Jeff made plans to buy Cassie (above) before arriving at the lodge, and while there Joram decided to buy Nellie.

Joram’s Jeep was at our house, so I got a chance to take care of Nellie while he unloaded his supplies from our van. That is Joram’s hand as he encouraged her to pose for me.
