Road Trip to Indianapolis
July 5-8
Part 3 ~ Berlin, Ohio
We arrived in Berlin about 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, about the time everything was closing. That was okay with me, because we just felt like walking around town and maybe taking an evening drive through the countryside.
First, we needed to find a motel. Zinck’s Inn had a notice that they still had rooms. The rooms were at Zinck’s Carriage House a few blocks away.
The clerk asked if we can do steps because the only rooms left were on the second floor. This was the pretty path to the steps (between the house and the tree).
Our room was incredibly nice and comfortable.
Six homemade cookies, and chips in the basket.
After getting settled in our room we went for a walk around town.
This quilt shop was our last stop before going to Boyd & Wurthmann Restaurant for supper. It was a great place to eat the local cuisine.
After supper, we walked to our motel to get the car for a drive in the country. The Amish dress a bit differently here than in our area. Their buggies are also designed differently than the ones we see in Lancaster County, PA.
I found the wheat shocks fascinating.
The sheep looked content as they grazed in this field.
After completing our drive, we came back to Zinck’s Inn – the main lodge. There was a large balcony where guests were enjoying the scenery.
It was a relaxing place to drink coffee, and do my evening blogging.
I sat at a table just inside this window.
