Visiting Niece
~~~
After Chuck E Cheese’s and the mall, we returned our grandchildren to their parents, then went to Cerwin’s sister’s house where their daughter Denise was visiting from Florida.
Denise meeting her cousin’s daughter, Peyton, for the first time.
Jakey, Peyton, Denise, and Crystal. Jakey and Crystal are Peyton’s parents.
Denise’s nephews Jeremy and Shtefan played a computer game while the adults visited.
Truck Rally Meeting
~~~
Gene and Rose Gehman, Truck Rally Coordinators, led the meeting in our garage on Sunday afternoon.
If you receive Peterbilt’s First Class magazine, do not miss the article about Gene in the newest issue.
Peterbilt did a great story on him.
Back to the Rally meeting.
This is the core group who keeps the Truck Rally running smoothly on the fourth Saturday of each June.
Left to right: Earl and Joyce Eby coordinate clean up. Bruce and Diane Gouldey oversee truck parking before and after the parade of trucks. Nelson and Nancy Martin organize the parade by making contacts (fire police and traffic cordination). Cerwin and I work with Gene and Rose on advertising and basic organization of the day.
Fay and Marv Sauder organize the evening barbecue meal. John and Naomi Peachey, Eunice and Paul Sensenig, and Corby and Vanessa Russell work with the CDL Roadeo. Paul and Eunice want to take a back seat on this committee and are training Corby and Vanessa to take their place.
The CDL Roadeo is an obstacle course where a driver’s skill is tested.

Missing committee members: Jere and Kristen High coordinate the benefit auctions. Barry and Lucy Grim oversee camper parking. Leverne Wise plans the car parking. Randy and Karen Sauder have the toughest job of the day, as they are in charge of those who judge the trucks. There are usually 200+ trucks. Don Hollinger takes excellent photos, and Sam Rittenhouse works in the vendor room, helping vendors find their correct spot.

The other year we asked each commitee leader to count the number of people who volunteer to help on the day of the rally. The grand total of volunteers was 233.
After the meeting, Cerwin and I provided a meal. Alvin and Anna Mae Wise and Harold and Marian Stauffer arrived at suppertime for the next meeting.
After the meal, those not involved in TFC’s Dinner Concert at Yoder’s Restaurant on March 27 left, and the rest of us worked on the menu, cost, and a few other details for the evening.

So concluded a busy weekend.
