Saint Patricks & Rockefeller Center
Final Photo Journal of Our Day in NYC
Monday, November 29
By the time we returned to ground level – from The Top of the Rock – the sun had set and the city had taken on the look of nighttime.
We took advantage of visiting nearby Saint Patrick’s Cathedral.
There was a pretty nativity set to the left of the pulpit area.
The girls were fascinated by all the votive candles.
We told them that votive candles in a Catholic church are usually lit by individuals who enter the church and wish to indicate that they are praying for someone.
The streets were busy with evening traffic as we walked back to Rockefeller Center to go to Teuscher Chocolates.
My $8.00 purchase – two pieces for Cerwin and two for me. (I had already eaten my piece of dark chocolate/raspberry when I took these pictures.) Yum!
Rockefeller Center is beautiful at night.
We liked the snowflakes that were projected on the building across the street.
Gloria wanted a picture in front of the white Christmas tree.
Then, as our day in the city drew to a close, we walked several blocks to a TGI Friday’s for supper and on to the spot where the bus would pick us up at 7:00 p.m.
On the bus and heading home from our fun-filled day.
We decided to do this again next year and stay overnight.
