Fort Popham

After packing up all our beach supplies and taking them to the van, we toured the fort.

I love walking where history happened.

When I walked through this door and turned left, I found a totally dark room. It felt kind of strange not knowing what was inside, so I took a flash photo to see what was there.

I called the girls inside and asked them to stand in the room. “No way they said in unison.” The room was as dark as the background on this post.

They would not go inside even after they saw what I saw with my camera’s flash.

We learned that this hole is where a cannon was installed and fired. (The bars were put there later.)
