Mackworth Island
Friday Evening, July 30
The girls were not yet finished swimming when we got home from Popham Fort, so they spent some time in the Myers’ pool.
We ordered some Papa John’s pizza for a quick supper before going to Mackworth Island for a one-and-a-quarter-mile walk.
These five were ready to hike before some of the others, so i suggested a photo.
The first side path led down to the water, so this was our first stop. In the background, you can see the road that leads from the mainland to the island.
Abby was teaching the younger girls how to skip stones in the water.
They didn’t always skip, but they usually made a splash.
Back to the main path
Some beauty along the way
This is a beautiful walking path.
Diana coming back to the main path. The island is above sea level, so every path to the water is down.
Gloria, Jana, Abigail, and Elizabeth returning from another walkway to the ocean.
More beauty along the way.

Silly girls
Gloria, Jana, Diana, Lydia, and Abigail
It was a beautiful evening for sailing
Our daughter Diane relaxing while the girls explored.
What are they looking at?
It was Diana climbing the wall
Rose hips
We surprised a red squirrel
The setting sun made the water glitter like gold.

More pictures from Mackworth Island tomorrow.
