Lots Going On At Our Place
Planning a Birthday Party for Jere
Lest you think that the wedding was the only thing going on in our world, we were also preparing our yard for a birthday party at the pavilion – the day after the wedding.
I couldn’t post these photos earlier, because the party was a surprise. Now that it’s over, Jere can see them.
Our daughter-in-law Kristen (left) was the mastermind behind planning a surprise 40th birthday party for our son Jere. Everything was black and white or cow-related because he is general manager of a milk testing lab. On this day she recruited the help of Lydia to mix black and white M & M’s and fill milk sample containers – which will serve as favors.
While they were working inside the garage, Cerwin put the boys to work in the yard.
I have one geranium that will never be the same, because Jesse thought it belonged in the wheelbarrow!
Josh and Conrad fill black buckets with Cowtails.
Jana loved helping with the party.
Like most little boys who would rather play with the box or the wrapping, Jared spent a long time popping the bubble wrap.
Finally the big day arrived – Sunday, September 6.
As always, there were lots of last minute things to do, but Kristen was so well prepared and organized that it went very smoothly.
This day is not his birthday, but the day Kristen chose because some family members are in the area for the previous day’s wedding.
His birthday is actually September 24.

Tomorrow night – Decorating the pavilion and setting up a lunch for eighty people.
