A Busy Weekend
Saturday, October 17

Cerwin and I were up early (4:30) Saturday morning, so we would be ready to leave the house at 5:30 – in preparation for a two-hour drive to Henning’s Market. No, we weren’t grocery shopping – but sharing a TFC PowerPoint with ministry friends.
They asked to see the process of building and delivering the last few chapels – especially the one that was recently delivered to Racine, Wisconsin.
The prayer breakfast is held in the market’s beautiful mezzanine – above the grocery store. There is an open area where you can eat and look over the store, or you can reserve this pretty room.

Henning’s has a fabulous buffet (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) on the main floor.
My choice of food: egg, bacon, creamed drybeef on a quarter piece of biscuit (Cerwin had the rest), two small sausages, fresh pineapple, and a bit of baked apples. I love this buffet, because I like small portions – and you pay by the weight of the food you chose . If you like to eat larger portions, you can buy the all-you-can eat buffet.
Then it was time for the meeting. We had a great time showing our pictures and reliving some of the wonderful memories of delivering the last two chapels, the people, and the variety of experiences.

On Saturday evening we enjoyed Love Feast and Communion at our home church. It was wonderful to have a time of refreshing – between the weekend’s busyness. I did not take any photos this time. If you are new to my blog, and want to see pictures from our last Love Feast and Communion, click here.

Sunday, October 18
I can’t believe that I forgot to take photos of Sunday lunch and the afternoon meeting with our TFC Prayer and Advisory Team. We invited Bunny O’Hare (Office of Chaplains) and his wife, Peg, to come, and give a ministry update, and answer questions. It was a very encouraging afternoon for Cerwin and me.

Our supper guests began arriving a few minutes after the afternoon guests left.
Roy’s (third from right) mom and sister (second and third from left) live in Florida, and were in this area for a few days. He wanted them to meet us (and us to meet them), so we set up this meal.
Deb (bright pink) is holding her cell phone while we sing “Happy Birthday” to Hannah (a Maine granddaughter).
Roy’s mother wanted a picture with her, Roy, and our son Jere – to show how much the guys look alike. They often refer to each other as “my brother with a different mother.”
Some of our family had not seen Josh’s deer mount from last year – so Kristen brought it along. Josh is on the right.
We also celebrated Jeff’s upcoming forty-fifth birthday. It was a delicious chocolate cake, filled with raspberry mousse – from Lititz Family Cupboard Bakery.
