Part Two
The saga of our painting day continued…
Chris (left) talking to Cerwin and Jeff, stopped in on her way home from clerking an auction, to pick up Nathan for his evening job at the Heisey farm.
Jenna helped with scraping some of the top parts of the door, while Jana continued doing her part.
We were thankful our children decided to risk the job of painting. It was the middle of the afternoon by now, and still no rain.
Josh and Jere came a short time after Roy and Deb.
Jere had some things to do at home first, as he just arrived home the night before, after spending a week in Poreč, Croatia. He was there to participate in ICAR’s General Assembly and Workshop. ICAR is International Committee for Animal Recording.
The girls putting the primer coat on the shed door.
The three men, Jeff, Jere, and Roy are on the home stretch – the north side of the house. It was almost time for supper, and still no rain.
I don’t know how many times we said, “I can’t believe they got the primer paint on the entire house.” Because rain was forecast, then didn’t happen, they only started after lunch.
And look at the burn pile – it is almost gone.

It felt so good to have these two jobs completed.
Thank you!
Thank you!

There was just one more thing to do. Diana got a boost from Roy to do her inspection and clean up of any stray paint.
Tomorrow night I will show you what the four youngest children did while the adults painted.
