Mud Sale Food
The Donuts Were My Favorite
Pies, bread, and cakes for sale
They made these on site. Oh, yum!
I understand these were just as delicious. They were covered with lots of confectioners sugar, so when you saw someone with confectioners sugar on their mouth or clothing, your knew what they had been eating.
They were sold inside and outside and were perfect with coffee.
Pizza and soft pretzels were other popular food items.
Cooking chicken corn soup
Because I had a donut, I wasn’t ready for soup until after the lunch rush – by then it was gone. I was so disappointed.
While taking pictures of the soup, Senator Brubaker came for his cup. When our daughter Deb heard that it was the senator, she asked if he would pose for a picture – with the possibility of putting it next years Mud Sale magazine.
He was pleased to do that.
Another hit was apple dumplings…
…and homemade ice cream.
They made many batches – which required several fuel refills.
The food will surely be a means of calling me back when next year’s sale comes around.
