Truck Rally

In Memory of Dwayne, Chadwin, and Derrick Snyder
Last year I photographed a beautiful rig that was not at this years rally.
Nor was the driver or his two young sons there.
Instead there was a beautiful memorial in West Hall (vendor building) – presented by his widow, her family, and Dwayne’s family.
It is good to see Martha doing something positive despite her painful loss
There were model trucks, coffee cups, paper weights, and t-shirts available to those who wanted to remember Dwayne and the boys. I understand from Dwayne’s dad, that they sold eighty model trucks.
Some of his friends displayed banners or…
lettered memorials on their rigs.
The accident that took their lives happened in Ohio on Saturday night August 9, 2008.
Dwayne and his sons, ten-year-old Chadwin and three-year-old Derrick were on their way home to Pennsylvania following a delivery and pickup in the northwest.
I’m not aware that they still know the reason for the accident.
Martha was pregnant at the time of Dwayne’s death, and later gave birth to a baby girl she named Shailyn, who joined big sister, Emily.

Do remember Martha and the girls in your prayers. The life of a widow (or widower) is never easy – especially in the early years. Baby Shailyn just spent a bit of time in the hospital following a frightening incident, but is thankfully back home again tonight.
