Easter Sunday
It was a beautiful day in our neck of the woods. After church, Cerwin and I walked to Clair and Anne’s house for lunch – my brother and his wife live next door. Their twin sons left for Virginia University when the meal was over, so they could be prepared for morning classes. As the remaining five of us (Anne’s mom was also there) relaxed over coffee, we commented on how different it will be next week when the whole gang (50-60 people) will be at our place for the annual Hershey Easter dinner.
After leaving their house we relaxed a bit, then prepared to go to our youngest son’s family for supper. Since it was a beautiful evening, I opted to walk. Cerwin doesn’t enjoy walking as much as I do, so chose to make the one-mile trip by car.
I took time to walk by my brothers’ dairy barns.
Since there weren’t any brand new calves, I settled for a close up of a cow!

As I approached Jere and Kristen’s house, they opened the door to show Jared (almost two years old) that I was coming. He took off running toward me!
He was nice and clean in the prior photo, but by the time we left (after spending a lot of time outside) he was in need of a bath!
During the evening Jana needed a hug from grandpa. She loves doing gymnastic moves, and ended up hitting something immobile…
…leaving a small wound just above her waistline.
Because the weather was so nice, and the sun was just beginning to set, I decided to also make the return trip by foot.
This time I walked by the main barn where I stopped to say hi to a different set of cows. I was amused by this one who came to the edge of the barn, stretched her head around the corner, and watched me as long as she could.
I took a shortcut around the barns and enjoyed this view of the house where I grew up.
The sun was almost set by the time I got home.
