We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
2 Corinthians 4:7 (New Living Translation)
~~~
Lord, I am glad that You know me
for who I am.
You are not impressed by
my job title
my skin color
my gender
my appearance.
Thank you for the times you exalted me
when I didn’t deserve it
and the times you humbled me
when I did deserve it.
Thank You for being the same
always
that I can count on You to be reliable and trustworthy
that your promises and precepts are true.
Thank you that you don’t expect perfection
just obedience.
I’m glad you know my limitations
and remind me at times of my humanity and frailty.
Thank you for being my potter
the weaver of the threads of my life
my power
my joy
my delight.
Thank you for being my strength when I am weak
my wealth when I am poor
my joy when I am sad
my courage when I am afraid
my understanding when I am confused.
