Cleanup Again
Jeff and Cerwin
Cerwin enlisted the help of our two sons and local grandchildren to clean up the trees that fell earlier this week during the storm.
Jere had fire duty.
Josh and Nathan helped him keep the fire going with lots of leaves and branches. I’m not sure how I missed getting a picture of Jordan – he was the one who loaded the logs on his dad’s pickup truck.
Ian and Jana opted to play “Cars” on the GameCube. I think Ian would play that all day long!
Jared watched his favorite video – “There Goes a Truck.”
Later in the morning Jared, Jenna, Jana, and Gloria took a walk to the pavilion to see the damage, now that the tree is removed. My brother and his sons did that job earlier in the week.
The men appreciated the help of Brian Dill, a neighbor we met the other week when the tree hit our house. He also got some of the wood.
Diana took care of helping with the final cleanup.
Our north yard is free of branches again – for awhile. My job was to keep everyone supplied with food and drink! They took a break at 10 AM and had lunch at noon. By that time the job was finished.
A few hours later the servicemen (there were two) from our local hardware store removed our old kitchen stove – which was fried on July 2 when the tree hit our electric wires and house.
The new one was installed just in time for me to bake stuffed chicken breasts for supper. I wanted a black stove, which was backordered in early July – the reason it took so long.
More Rain!
The corn is soon going to be ten feet tall!
Daylight ended with a pretty sky.
When I was taking this picture, I noticed something funny – another medium-sized branch had fallen where the men cleaned up this morning! I’m not sure Cerwin thought it was funny.
