Lesson Learned

After regretting that I did not have a camera last Sunday when we were invited to Carl and Nancy’s for lunch, I put my old Nikon Coolpix 4500 in our car – instead of storing it in a drawer where it is only used now and then by grandchildren.

It already paid off!

We seemed to have a lot of people to talk to after church, and were some of the last to leave – not usual for us.  When we got to the car, there was a note from our granddaughter Diana, asking us to drop two DVDs off at Jere and Kristen’s house on the way home.  (Apparently she forgot to give them to Jana after church.)

Jere and Kristen were just ready to sit down for lunch when I walked in.  They had extra food, and invited us to join them!  Now didn’t that work out nice.

Who can turn down grilled hamburgers and corn on the cob?

Jared, Kristen, Jesse, Jere, Ian, and Jana.  Cerwin and Josh are just off the camera to my left.

Jere and Kristen were surprised that Jesse liked watermelon.

After getting home, we spent the rest of the day relaxing.  Cerwin watched hunting and Ice Road Truckers while I digitized old slides with a camera attachment I borrowed from my brother Clair early this year.

Digitizing slides and documenting the date is time-consuming, but it is something I want to do so I can eventually give our children a DVD of their growing up years.
