Bluegrass Festival
Sunday
We went to the festival a bit later then the other three days – because we chose to go to Brunswick Church of the Brethren (the home church of our Maine family). We could have gone to morning worship at the festival, but had not seen our Brunswick church friends the last few times we were here.
Lydia (just under the space between the “T” in Point and the “B” in Beach was the only one from our house who went to church at the festival – due to the fact that final practice for The Children of Bluegrass concert in the evening was just after morning worship on the beach.
Our afternoon and evening was similar to the past three days – DELIGHTFUL!
A headliner – and my favorite of the day – was Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver.
Doyle does lots of gospel, and I was pleasantly pleased when they removed their hats to sing the gospel portion – a respect and honor to the Lord that very few men do any more.
The closing group – Del McCoury Band – came on after 10:00 p.m. That was way too late for me, and since Diane was also ready to go home, we left Cerwin and the grandchildren at the park. Mark (our son-law) got home about the same time we did. He drives motorcoach and had taken a soccer team to Burlington, Vermont, for the weekend.
