Heading Home Via the Sky
But first, another of Chaplain David’s delicious breakfasts. This time it was his fabulous cinnamon rolls. In this photo they are ready for the oven.
The walnut-flavored icing – waiting to top off the finished product.
I can’t believe that I resisted the temptation to eat more than half a roll.
On Dave and Laura’s front steps about 10:00 a.m. – before leaving for the Omaha airport.
One of the things I love about flying is seeing the fabulous landscapes of our country.
Approaching Chicago’s O’Hare Airport
Our carrier today was American – because that is where we had free air miles.
Some flights were late out of Omaha this morning due to fog, so we were glad our noon flight was right on time – as we had only eighty minutes layover in Chicago.
We need not have worried. Our gate of departure was the same one at which we arrived – giving us time to share a delicious quesadilla lunch in the restaurant next to our gate.
It was good to see the green mountains and landscape of Pennsylvania as we approached Harrisburg.
Seeing the Susquehanna River this close means we are near our home airport.
The sun was setting as we entered our driveway about 6:30 p.m.
