A Busy, Wonderful Weekend

After taking the girls home on Saturday afternoon, we relaxed a bit, then went to our church’s semiannual Love Feast and Communion service.  (Sometime I will take pictures.)  Love Feast begins with feet washing, followed by a light meal of beef rice soup, roast beef, and bread, and then the communion service.  It was a special, meaningful evening.

Sunday Afternoon

We had a TFC Advisory meeting at our house – which began with at 12:30 lunch that I had prepared (ham loaf, gourmet potatoes, mixed vegetables & pasta, seven-layer salad, and rolls, followed by dessert:  pumpkin and white angel food cake, raspberry crunch, and tapioca.)

Can you tell by all the cords that we used photos to give our advisory/prayer partners some information?

Several were missing today, but we appreciate that these men and women care and pray for us, and the entire ministry.  They receive more detailed information concerning our praises and prayer requests then is usually put in our literature and newsletters.

Sunday Evening

I can’t believe I forgot my camera when we went to John and Arlene Heisey’s for supper, so I pulled a photo from our trip to Germany and Switzerland in July and August.  They prepared a delicious meal of cheese-stuffed pasta shells, peas and carrots, a salad, and a spice cake that was topped with pumpkin pudding and whipped cream.

The reason we went to John and Arlene’s was because Ken and Debbie Bomberger were in the area on Sunday.  (This photo is also from our trip.)  What fun to spend an evening with them, reminisce about our trip, and learn to know them better.  Ken is a pastor in the Spring City area of Pennsylvania.

By the way, I did get my DVD finished to take along and give to them.  I reduced my 5,000 photos to 889 – and they all fit on one DVD!  I burned the other DVDs today (for those in our tour group) while doing various projects in the office – so they are finally ready for tomorrow’s mail.

I had a long, quiet evening today, because Cerwin and Jeff (our oldest son) were archery hunting.  This time it was Jeff’s turn to hit the target.  He has a young doe ready to take to the butcher shop in the morning.
