A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

When I stepped outside this morning – before going to my basement office – I thought, “Oh, what a beautiful morning.”

When I closed the office this evening, I went outside again – while waiting for Cerwin to get ready to go to Wal-Mart – and walked down our leafy patio steps.

I enjoyed walking around our lawn, checking for interesting photo shots.  (Josiah, remember this?  It’s still looking good.)

Leaves are gathering anywhere there are crevices and crannys.

Leaves that remain attached to branches are beginning to look a bit battered.

The decorative grass is as pretty as it gets.

Cerwin is ready – and we are on our way.

Cerwin slowed down as soon as I said, “Oh, look at the horse”, because he knew I would want a picture.

I love taking this scenic drive when we go to Wal-Mart.

It was a cool evening, so a cup of homemade soup for each of us, and a shared apple dumpling was a perfect supper.  I had tomato garlic soup and Cerwin had hamburger vegetable.

We enjoyed shopping for the few things we needed, but couldn’t find an 8 x 12 frame that we need for a chapel photo.  I will have to check online to see where I can buy specialty-size frames.

The sun was almost set when we left the parking lot.

Within minutes it was dark.

I just didn’t have enough to do while sitting in the passenger seat, so experimented with the light from the cars.

I tried taking several photos of car lights after getting out of town, and they were all similar – a bunch of squiggly lines!
