Buying a Tree
This evening, following supper at the new Country Table Restaurant in town, we went to the nursery where our grandson, Jordan, works.
He knew we were looking for a Red Sunset Maple, so immediately took us to that section.
Jordan pointed out strong and weak points of several trees – especially examining the leader branches.
He and grandpa had discussed trees several times in the last few months, and had settled on a Red Sunset Maple for our front yard – because of the red flowers in spring and the crimson leaves in fall.
Preparing to load it in the pickup truck.
Securing it for the trip home.
Grandson Josh (red shirt) rode his bike here to help unload it after Jordan got off work at 8:00 p.m.
It is safely on the ground in the area of the front yard where we will plant it.
It’s not that we don’t have enough trees in our yard – we have more than eighty – but this one will fill an empty space in the front yard where storms destroyed three trees during the past half dozen summers.
We welcome this pretty little tree to our yard.
