Hens & Chicks, Flowers, and Grandsons
Yesterday when I checked what was growing and blooming in our patio flower bed, I noticed that the “Hens and Chicks” (Crassulaceae) were growing an unusual shoot.
When I got closer I saw that flowers will soon be emerging.
I never noticed a tall shoot before, and learned that this happens when the plant matures – and after the flowers blooms that “hen” will die.

Now on to the other flowers that are blooming in that flower bed.

Two Grandsons

Tonight there were two grandsons at our house – the youngest and the oldest.
Jesse (eleven months) and Josiah (seventeen)
Josiah is visiting from Maine – for the month of June – and Jesse was here for the evening while the rest of his family went to Hershey Chocolate World.
Who says babies need toys. Jesse entertained himself for fifteen minutes by crawling up and down the three-inch drop between our kitchen and the entrance area of our garage.
Then he was finished…
…and closed the door.
