The Barn Roof
The old, deteriorating shingles on the right side of my brothers’ barn roof had been removed by the time I took the first picture.
If you missed my first entry, and the history of the barn, check out my July 6 post.
By the next day that side was finished, and repair had begun on the left side.
The roof is looking good on this side.
You can tell this barn was built long before the road was used by anyone other than those who lived here, as it was placed right next to the road.
Work on the east side had not yet begun on Tuesday.
When I went to the post office on Wednesday, I noticed they had already installed half of the steel.
What a difference a week made in the appearance of the old barn.
I am so pleased to see this restoration, as this is where I spent my childhood. My parents moved here when I was about two, and today my three brothers use this barn, and farm the land that has been in our family for five generations.
