Yesterday I was invited to a Presidential Review at The White House – well, sort of.

Our grandson Josh and his classmates at LAMS (a local Christian School) are studying the presidents, and each student was asked to choose a president or president’s wife to study and represent in this review.

One of the first things we noticed upon entrance was the “Secret Service”.  They (upper classmen) made sure everyone was safe!

The Chief of Staff (5th grade teacher) introduced us to each president and president’s wife as they made their entrance – telling us interesting highlights about their life.

The procession began with Martha Washington (above) and ended with George W. Bush.

Because I was grandmother to our 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt, I was most anxious to see him!

Josh had learned and documented several things about Teddy in the school’s Presidential Library:  the Wright Brothers flew their first plane during his administration; the teddy bear was named after him; and his metal eye glass case saved him from being hurt or killed by a bullet in an assassination attempt.

Finally it was time for our grandson’s entrance!

Isn’t he the most handsome Theodore Roosevelt you have ever seen?

Thanks to the school and parents for this creative way of teaching their students about our nation’s presidents.
