Tuesday, November 19 We left the hotel in Missouri about 7:45 a.m. – after saying goodbye to some of our new friends. Our first stop was at the slaughter-house where the deer were taken after they were brought in from the field. Cerwin asked them to just remove the meat from the bones. We have a […]

Monday, November 18 It was fun to open our hotel room curtain early each morning, then open the sliding glass door to our small deck overlooking the lake and watch the sunrise. It was about this time that I made coffee (in the pot in our room) and began to blog about the previous day – while […]

the ladies enjoyed a cooking demonstration in the hotel restaurant. The chef demonstrated how to make Sweet Onion and Celery Seed Dressing. When he was finished we were treated to a chicken salad lunch that used the dressing. It was delicious. After the luncheon the ladies presented Kassy and Missy (our hostesses) with gifts because of all their […]

A Successful Hunt

Cerwin loved the view from his tree stand/sissy shack on Monday and took a few cell phone pictures. While he enjoyed seeing several doe, a few small buck, a nice buck at a distance, squirrels, and turkey, I took a walk around the hotel and boat dock – also enjoying the beautiful weather. You may remember that I […]

A Windy Day In Osage Beach

Many of the hunters said this was one of the windiest days in which they have ever hunted. At least it was fairly warm and not raining. Even the birds perched on the ledge of the window (next to where I sat in the lounge doing my counted cross stitch) to get away from the wind. […]

Today begins a new hunting experience for Cerwin. The beautiful view from our room. This looks like an area that I will want to explore while Cerwin is hunting. It is always delightful to see the 198 foot tall cross when we travel through Effingham, Illinois. Enjoying coffee, the scenery, and three hours of Gospel music on Sirius Radio (bluegrass channel) was heavenly. As we talked about the delightful, heavenly morning, we came upon highway that was quite bumpy. I said to Cerwin, “This road reminds […]

My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
