Sunday, December 8 We were glad for a warm chapel on this frigid (about zero degrees) Sunday morning. This is the view of the chapel from the truck stop restaurant. Chaplain Tim worked until a bit after midnight to get the interior of the chapel ready for Sunday morning. He was doing the kind of […]

Moving the Chapels

Friday evening, December 6 After we arrived, Tim and Cerwin removed some exterior attachments to the old chapel. I’m not sure what everything was, but they looked like antennas and such. The mechanic preparing to do his “thing.” By 3:45 in the afternoon they decided that it may move, so Chaplain Tim got in the cab. The […]

The last leg of the new chapel delivery. Friday, December 6 Cerwin did not want to take this route, but a detour mandated that we go this way. He asked me to help him keep an eye on the signs and routes as we maneuvered through the busy early morning traffic. I can’t imagine what […]

I thought you might like to see what is happening with the latest chapel construction. Cerwin picked it up at Mervin Weaver’s paint shop (Merv’s Painting) on October 23. Merv, his dad, Amos, and their employees do an amazing job of sandblasting and painting our old trailers. Our grandson Josh spent a day with Cerwin in the […]

It was a beautiful morning as we traveled to Flying J Travel Plaza near Elkton, Maryland. Monday, October 14.   I especially enjoy this drive because we travel on back roads. Now that is an abandoned house. The weeds and vines are covering the first floor. I find abandoned houses interesting and sad.   I wish […]

The chapel under construction – for Hudson, Wisconsin – is moving along quickly. The ceiling was finished in mid-September. When the interior was finished to Cerwin’s satisfaction (early October), he took the trailer to Mev Weaver’s for sandblasting and painting – and to Cerwin’s surprise, Merv called him yesterday that it is finished. Wow! Cerwin didn’t expect […]

My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
