We had a great afternoon looking at videos that Sam recently had transferred to DVDs. Afterward we had a light supper. Most of the videos were of our 1996 trip to Nova Scotia.
I looked up a few photos that we have of the same trip.
Me, Alice (now deceased) and Sam enjoying a lobster dinner. We were somewhere on Cape Breton.
We remember this because the lobster was very cheap in price. I think two for $10.00.
Sam was in charge of reservations for motels and bed and breakfasts. This was one of our favorites. Rankins Bed and Breakfast on Cape Breton. Mr. Rankin was a lobsterman and told a lot of interesting stories.
I took an early morning walk the next day and enjoyed the sights and sounds of a lobster bay.
My walking companion. This young cow followed me the entire way. She was just on the other side of a wire fence.
Mrs. Rankin making our breakfast.
Sam, Alice and Cerwin waiting for breakfast to be served.
Later in the trip – during a roadside break – Cerwin offered to go down a hillside to retrieve Sam’s cap that had blown off his head.
Cerwin and Sam climbing over the rocks at Peggy’s Cove.
We have a lot of great memories from that trip – visiting TFC friends, seeing great scenery and traveling by ferry to get back to Canada.
Looks like a great trip, and wonderful memories. {{{hugs}}}
We had a really great time.
Thanks for sharing Doris, we know Sam as well!
