Month: December 2021
Our 1st Family Christmas Celebration for This Season.
~~~ Sunday Afternoon, December 5 ~~~ Following a make-your-own taco salad lunch and a Now-You-Have-It-Now-You-Don’t game for the Myers’ family, we invited the rest of the family to stop in for a dessert bar. It was bound to happen in our large family of 44. Due to logistics and schedules, we will have a second […]
Breakfast with Mark, Diane, Heze and Kayla
~~~ Saturday Morning, December 4 ~~~ Before breakfast they wanted a picture to officially announce the upcoming birth of Heze and Kayla’s baby. To announce their pregnancy, Heze and Kayla sent this onesie to Mark and Diane a few weeks ago. For us, they announced it shortly arriving by showing us a picture of the […]

A Gift of Cookies
~~~ Saturday, December 4 ~~~ My sister and her girls (daughters and granddaughters) have a cookie-baking-day each December. We are delighted to be one of the beneficiaries. Oh, yum! I put them in the freezer so we can enjoy savoring one at a time with morning coffee.
Heze and Kayla Arrived from Tennessee
~~~ Thursday, December 2 ~~~ They left Tennessee early Thursday and arrived here about 12 hours later – a normal drive from their house to ours. These pictures are from the next day when we took them to Texas Roadhouse in Palmyra for their 2021 birthday celebrations. They love to shop at BB’s near Schaefferstown […]
What a Fabulous Way to Say, “Good Morning, God.”
~~~ Wednesday Morning, December 1 ~~~ I think God knows we need pretty sunrises now and then. The sky lightened as I moved my camera to the southeast. It lightened even more as I faced south. A pretty sunrise and cold morning air certainly has my brain alert and alive.
Amish Manure Spreader
~~~ Monday, November 29 ~~~ We had gone to Roy and Deb’s (one hour south of us) to help with some changes they are making in the property in preparation for his mom to live in a large travel trailer on their property. On the way home we saw this scene. I am not sure […]
When the Evening Sky is Orange
~~~ Sunday Evening, November 28 ~~~ My first view of the setting sun was from behind our pear tree. I went outside and walked around the tree to get a view of it unhindered by branches and leaves. I liked this view as well – from behind another tree where this angle gave me a […]
The Changing of Two Trees
I thought it would be fun to take pictures of the same two trees as they went through the metamorphosis of the Fall season. October 24. These two trees tower over our front yard near the road. The one closest to the field was beginning to change colors first. October 28 November 1 November 6. […]
Birthday Lunch
~~~ Sunday, November 28 ~~~ Donovan (with a sleeping Bennett), Diana, Gloria, Zach, Cerwin, Chris and Jeff We were celebrating the birthdays of Diana, Gloria, Zach, Chris and Jeff. I needed a new picture of Gloria and Zach for our refrigerator. After Bennett woke up, he must have wondered how he fell asleep in the […]
I Commend You to the Care of God
Because You love each one more than I do, I can bring them to You with great joy, knowing without a doubt that You are working in each life, especially in things that concern me, like health or spiritual carelessness.
Oh, Wow! Oh, Wow!
As you know, I rarely post anything the same day I take a picture, but I just had to post tonight’s sunset! I keep reading and hearing about how important it to take time to rest and enjoy the beauty around us as we get involved in the busyness of Christmas. When I looked out […]
First Snow of the Season was Just a Sprinkling
~~~ Sunday Morning, November 28 ~~~ It looked like there was a sprinkling of sugar over everything. A Junco was looking for a stray black oil sunflower seed. There was a flock of mourning doves in the tree outside our living room window.
Hairy Woodpecker
It is nice to see a Hairy Woodpecker now and then. We see Downy Woodpeckers almost every day this time of year, but it is a bit rare to see the larger Hairy – even though they look alike.
