The day looked gloomy from the start.
“I am looking toward the eastern sky and think the sun is not coming out today – no matter how tall I stand.”
“It doesn’t look so great in the western sky either.”
“Oh, well. I hear the people world is experiencing a dangerous virus, so I will be content with a cloudy day.”
“I don’t feel very energetic today. Maybe it’s the cloudy day.”
“Thank you for putting sunflower seeds and suet out for us today. That way I don’t have to use my energy to search other places.”
“Did you hear what starling said – that there is a virus in the people world? I am glad we live on the outside.”
“Maybe we should be praying for the people who live in this house.”
We know that our Heavenly Father takes care of us, so I am sure He will understand if we ask Him to take care of them.”
“Thank you, Lady of the House, for this birdseed and suet – especially today when it is dreary and rainy.”
“I like eating under the roof of your house so I don’t get wet.”
“Okay you guys, would you hurry up. I am getting wet out here in the tree.”
“Lady of the house, would you scare them away so I can get a turn at the feeder?”
While I “listened” to the birds, I decided to make a large pot of chili con carne. It just seemed like a thing to do on a dreary-kind-of-day.
I love your bird photos, and the story you wove to go with them!
Thank you. Bird-watching is one thing we can do these days. 🙂
I love birds, too, and am glad to see them returning here in the north. Thanks for sharing!
You are welcome. It is fun to watch them these days when I can’t leave the house.
