Saturday Morning, December 21
One of the benefits of getting on the road before sunrise this time of year is seeing pretty Christmas lights. This picture was taken as we drove through Ephrata on the way to Yoder’s Restaurant in New Holland.
By the time we got to the east end of Ephrata the sun was beginning to make itself known in the morning sky.
Before long the sky changed as clouds moved in.
I arrived in the designated prayer breakfast room early (while Cerwin talked to some of the guys in the entrance area) and took time to get pictures of the pretty Christmas tree in the corner.
By 7:30 everyone had arrived and Ken Landis Funk (center), a prayer breakfast contact person, welcomed everyone and introduced the speaker, Vernon Stoltzfus.
Vernon (left) said the he grew up loving trucks and only wanted to own one truck – and still owns it – but never dreamed of how God would work in his life. Today his business brokers (finds loads) for more that 300 truck drivers.
As he grew in the Lord he had a desire for learning truth, redeeming the time and walking circumspectly.
“There is warfare in this life – meaning we cannot be unwise in our daily decisions. Where do you we get our counsel? Do we really live by the Word.”
“Redeeming the time may mean that we will have to get our hands dirty. We cannot just hang out with Christians if we are going to live by the Word.”
Following his challenge, we enjoyed breakfast and fellowship.
It was an incredibly good meeting.
