Tuesday, November 20
I didn’t drive around the neighborhood to check, but it was a Tuesday in November (a day when Amish hold weddings) and there were a lot of Amish carriages and vans (Amish who come from a distance have English drivers) going by our house yesterday.
Notice, this one has something tied to it’s roof. I doubt that it was a wedding gift, because those are not usually given on the wedding day – but I expect that could be a possibility.
I took the pictures between 8:00 am and 8:30 am.
Are all the carriages in your area covered?
We see a few open ones during the summer, but it is too cold for them right now.
We know of a group in Southwestern Ontario that has open carriages year round. We passed lines of them going to meeting one Sunday in January a few years ago.
Interesting. That would be cold. Of course, I am not sure a covered carriage is warm unless they have portable heaters.
