Saturday Morning, November 16
We were up early and on the road by 6 am so we could be at Franconia Square Café and Market (Souderton) by 7:30 am for Bucks-Montgomery’s monthly prayer breakfast.
We enjoyed a pretty sunrise as we headed east.
We arrived in plenty of time – about 7:30 – to set up our projector and prepare the slide show.
I prepared a PowerPoint of slides (mostly pictures of their events through the years) to thank the chapter for forty years of faithfully praying for and holding fundraisers for TFC Global. I had a few questions on the first slide. Did I correctly understand that the Bucks Montgomery Chapter began in 1979? They said, yes. Where did the chapter hold their first prayer breakfast? R & S Restaurant. Where did the chapter hold their first banquet? Christopher Dock School. Which was first – the prayer breakfasts or a banquet? Prayer breakfast.
Prayer before the meal.
Inge (right in pink) went along with us. You will notice that she enjoys taking ictures as much as I do.
Loren led the group in a few songs before the breakfast. (I was amused to see myself in the mirror – taking this picture.) Following the meal I showed the series of photos I had prepared. They seemed to enjoy the memories and seeing many people who have gone home to the Lord. Cerwin closed with a few chaplain stories from the past week or two.
How many chapters still exist. Don’t think there are any on West Coast. am I right?
We still have four in our area: Bucks Montgomery, Lancaster, York Adams and Susquehanna. I think Ohio and Michigan may have a few. I am not sure about the south and the west.
