We had so much rain in the past month that it was nice when the last two days were sunny and dry.
One reward of abundant rain is abundant mint tea in our “tea bed.”
I took advantage of a delicious glass of mint tea yesterday after spending time in beautifying our patio and flowerbeds.
One evening this week we watched rain coming across the fields from the southwest.
We were blessed to receive only rain unlike areas not far from us who had hail and strong winds – even tornados.
How nice to have fresh mint tea from your yard! That was quite a storm that came past you — I thought about you as I heard of the bad weather reaching PA. Hope you stay safe and out of the really bad storms!
There was storm damage within 8 miles of us. I just finished another glass of tea. 🙂
That’s scary — stay safe!
We do our best to stay safe. 🙂
We’ve had a lot of rain here too. I used to love watching rain travel across the plains in Africa. We lived in a few houses where that was the sign to hurry out and close the wooden shutters. One house had narrow wooden vertical shutters that could be closed from inside. None of the houses we lived in had glass windows. One duplex had a narrow strip above the windows that was isinglass that at least let in some light. The only other time I ever heard of isinglass was in the song from “Oklahoma”.
After visiting Africa last year, I can visualize what you are describing.
I always enjoy a nice glass of mint tea as well. My sister dries hers and has mint tea year ’round. What joy to watch rain coming across the fields, hearing it before it arrives in your own yard. You are blessed! 🙂
I have dried it and frozen it, but there is nothing like fresh-out-of-the-garden tea. 🙂
