Photo of Josiah and Lydia after his surgery on Monday.
I just received a message from Lydia – who went to the Reading Hospital after her work at Lancaster General Hospital. This afternoon’s surgery to install a rod in Josiah’s femur and close the wound went well according to the surgeon. He will be returned to his room shortly.
Lydia (Josiah’s youngest sister) has been a “rock” for Josiah. She endured more trauma through this than most of us because she was with the group of friends when Josiah took Tyler for a short ride. She and Tyler’s wife were the first contacts with the police and hospital staff. Lydia stayed with Josiah from the time of the Friday evening accident until last night when she had to go home to be at work early this morning. She has been a faithful connection between Josiah and his family.
I’m glad Lydia was nearby and could be that rock for Josiah — there’s nothing like having a family member to hold one’s hand in such a situation. I’m glad the surgeries are going well — that helps the healing, too, to know that all is going as well as it can along the way. I hope Lydia can get some good rest!
Thanks for caring.
You’re welcome — so many people to be concerned about when there’s an accident like this! Are you still in Maine? I’m sure Diane is sad that she isn’t still in PA!
