Saturday, December 14 We woke up Saturday morning to a heavy snow in Burlington. We were glad that our motel was only a few blocks from the church where the service would be held. One time I looked out, I enjoyed watching these two dogs running and jumping in the snow. A short time later there […]

Friday, December 13 The pretty sunrise seemed to always be behind us as we began our almost eight-hour drive to Burlington, Ontario, for the memorial service for our friend Audrey Scott, so I took a picture in the rearview mirror. The early morning sun made pretty reflections on the Susquehanna River We expected to get into snow as […]

Thursday, December 12 was a busy day in the office as I had many things to do. I only had two days in my office this week – we got home from Hudson, Wisconsin, on Tuesday evening and were heading to Burlington, Ontario, on Friday morning for a memorial service for our TFC friend Audrey Scott. Imagine our delight when […]

Monday, December 9 We waited until daylight before leaving the truck stop due to the scattering of snow on Sunday night, and were barely on the road when we began seeing signs of a rainbow. I had never seen a rainbow that encircled the sun. (As you can see, Cerwin quickly ran the windshield wipers to give me a […]

First Worship Service In The Hudson Chapel

Sunday, December 8 We were glad for a warm chapel on this frigid (about zero degrees) Sunday morning. This is the view of the chapel from the truck stop restaurant. Chaplain Tim worked until a bit after midnight to get the interior of the chapel ready for Sunday morning. He was doing the kind of […]

A Tour of Hudson, Wisconsin

Sunday, December 8 When Chaplain Tim asked if we would like a quick tour of Hudson on Sunday morning, before chapel services, he got an enthusiastic YES from me. The old courthouse. I was a bit disappointed that the day was overcast – meaning there was no chance of seeing eagles, but that disappointment was wiped […]

Moving the Chapels

Friday evening, December 6 After we arrived, Tim and Cerwin removed some exterior attachments to the old chapel. I’m not sure what everything was, but they looked like antennas and such. The mechanic preparing to do his “thing.” By 3:45 in the afternoon they decided that it may move, so Chaplain Tim got in the cab. The […]

The last leg of the new chapel delivery. Friday, December 6 Cerwin did not want to take this route, but a detour mandated that we go this way. He asked me to help him keep an eye on the signs and routes as we maneuvered through the busy early morning traffic. I can’t imagine what […]

Thursday, December 5 Leaving TFC’s shop near Marietta, Pennsylvania – about 5:30 a.m. We drove through some light, morning fog in areas, but not too bad. We saw our first – and only – sign of snow for the day in the high elevations on I-80 in western Pennsylvania. We were hoping to deliver a clean […]

We are surprised to still see skunks under our bird feeders at night. I thought they would be hibernating by now. With Cerwin’s family While we waited for everyone to come, I noticed a beautiful sunset. Isn’t it interesting that sunsets are never identical? My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
