Care of Wild Animals
By Debra Ann Milne (our youngest daughter)
Deb asked if I would post this on my blog sometime. I just received it this evening – after getting home from a busy, busy day – so this seemed like a good evening to do it. ![]()
If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

On Being a Mother and Grandmother
One of the dangers of posting pictures on my blog every day
and being careful to not embarrass our children and grandchildren
is that some people think we never have any problems
and that I am a “wonderful, delightful” mother and grandmother.
Because I choose to portray fun things and pretty things
you don’t pick up on the times when we disagree
when someone is hurting or sad
or when the young (or not so young) make a bad choice.
Because my life motivation is to encourage Christians
and to share the joy of serving the Lord
I try not to make a display
of messy, unlovely things.
There are twenty-seven of us
Cerwin, me,
our four children, their spouses,
their sixteen children, and a grandson-in-law.
Some of us are conservative
and others – not so much
some have chosen to home school
others prefer public education.
We all have opinions
some stronger than others
and ideas that sometimes irritate another
so we don’t always agree.
Above all that, the mother and grandmother of this clan
is not perfect, nor does she want to pretend to be
or cause you to think along that line
because that is way too heavy a burden to carry.
This mother and grandmother
worries when she should trust
she has been known to withdraw,
and be unkind, unloving, and impatient.
However, there is one thing I want you
and each of our children and grandchildren to know.
I love them with my whole heart
And pray for them every day.
I am delighted when I see growth – especially spiritual growth.
I love when they call, email, or text me for prayer.
I enjoy hearing what is going on in their life
and when they tell me about their jobs and relationships.
I am concerned when I notice or hear about a struggle
whether spiritual, emotional, or physical
and pray when I hear that one of them is sad
or in some kind of pain.
I guess I just wanted you to know
that our family is not perfect
nor do we claim to be
…especially the mother.
You watch me when I travel and when I rest.
You are familiar with all my ways.

One More Photo Needed For the TFC Brochure
So, One More Photo Shoot – April 30
Shortly after getting back to my home office on Monday afternoon, Lynn called to ask if I could take one more photo for the brochure on which she is working.
I was glad to oblige, so the next morning Bunny, Dan, Lynn, and I met at a local restaurant for breakfast.
It was easy taking pictures of these two, and especially fun to meet Dan (son of Chris) who works at the International Office.
Dan played the part of a truck driver for the brochure photo.
I found it interesting that on the way home from the office I came upon this convoy of four trucks – on a country road. Yes, four – two in the background and two in the foreground.
They don’t know that I LOVE truck drivers, and many times PRAY for them when I see them on the road.
I pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless your life! Philippians 4:23 (CEV)
Think about what is good and worthy of praise.
Think about what is true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.
Philippians 4:8 (Easy-to-Read Version)
Beauty is something internal that can’t be destroyed.
Beauty expresses itself in a gentle and quiet attitude which God considers precious.

Photo Shoot at TFC’s International Office
Monday, April 29
I went to the International Office last Monday to do a photo shoot for a new brochure. Since I was early, I went to the shop to see what Cerwin was doing.
He was working on a donation box for the Calgary Chapel.
If you wonder what is happening to the construction process, the chapel has been at the paint shop for the past few weeks. Cerwin stopped in yesterday to see what is happening, and was pleased that it was sandblasted and primered. That means it will go to the lettering shop next week, and then after a few days will be back in TFC’s shop.
I went over to the office and found that everyone who works there was in the board room – having just finished prayer time.
Clockwise (starting on the left): Mike Hayden, Chris Salinger, Ruth Martin, Inge Koenig, Scott Weidner, Bunny O’Hare, Jeff Batzer, Jane Evans, and Lynn Kolb.
The photo shoot for the brochure began up the street at Jagtrux with Chaplains Jake Wise and Jay Schock.
Then we went back to the International Office for another set of pictures.
Boys will be boys! …and the one giving Bunny the rabbit ears is our distinguished president, Scott Weidner. (Of course a “bunny” needs rabbit ears.)

When I stopped in Inge’s office for a card reader (to give the photos to Lynn), she asked me to take a picture of her pretty tulips.

Chris and Susan – who may be laughing over the book title.
Mike and Susan
I just had to get one more picture of the entire group.
Jake, Jeff, Jay, Bunny, Inge, Jane, Lynn, Ruth, Susan, Chris, Scott, Mike, and Cerwin.
I sure do love and respect these people for their dedication to the Lord and TFC.
A yummy lunch.
We also celebrated Mike and Chris’ birthdays.
