Yesterday was a snowy, cloudy day ~ the kind that brings lots of birds to the feeders.
They were so busy, I just kept snapping pictures, knowing I would get a few interesting ones with birds in flight.
Most of the birds were finches and sparrows.
There were a few chickadees…
…and nuthatches.
Then the prettiest of all showed up…
…and to my delight, even posed a bit. I think he knows he is pretty!
God is our refuge and strength a tested help in times of trouble.
And so we need not fear even if the world blows up, and the mountains crumble into the sea.

Go Light Your World!
Middle School Christmas Concert
~~~
We spent a relaxing evening last night listening to beautiful Christmas music.
Following opening prayer, the Orchestra and Tone Chime Ensemble performed.
Next was the Festival Choir ~ which included our grandson, Josh (back row – left)
I particularly liked The Sky Can Remember
They were later joined by the entire choir.
Go Light Your World.
For the closing song they left the stage and surrounded the sides and back of the room. Impressive!
Even in darkness
light dawns for the upright
for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.
Psalm 112:4
A Week of Sunsets
I took these seven pictures at 4:50 p.m., standing at the same spot, during the last eight days.
I forgot to take a picture on Monday evening. ![]()
Therefore
rid
yourselves of all malice, and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies
crave
pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
1 Peter 2:1-3
The words “rid” and “crave” grabbed me when I read these verses yesterday.
“Therefore Jesus said again,
“I tell you the truth,
I am the gate for the sheep.”
I am the gate;
whoever enters through me will be saved.
He will come in and go out, and find pasture.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;
I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full.
John 10:7, 9-10 NIV
Dairy Banquet
This is an annual event honoring dairy farmers and businesses who participate with Lancaster DHIA (Dairy Herd Improvement Association), a milk testing organization. Our youngest son, Jere, invited us to attend this noon meal because it was his first banquet as General Manager. (Cerwin was not able to be there due to responsibilities with TFC today.)
The photo was taken at a local farm.
Guest Speaker was Dennis Wolff, Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture.
My youngest brother, Steve, gave the National DHIA Report.
Jere gave the Manager’s Report.
Great job. ![]()
Several farmers were recognized for their herd’s milk production or high test results.
Marie, Lancaster DHIA’s Admnistrative Assistant, asked me to pose for a picture with Jere and Kristen. I requested that she take a few pictures with my camera as well.
Thanks, Marie!
