A Young Preacher
An Invitation for Lunch
A Snow Flurry
Earlier this week we heard that our friends’ (Gene & Rose Gehman) son, Greg, was preaching his first sermon as an intern at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church. Since they have an early service ( 8:00 a.m.), we could go there, and get back to our church in time for the morning service.
It was fun surprising Greg. We were early, so had time to visit with him a bit.
A preacher he is!
“God can be trusted.” “In Him there is enough.”
“Move in the path of complete trust in God.”

From there we went to our church – about two miles away – where we were challenged by another good sermon on the extraordinary love of God.
The host couple, Steve and Martha Martin, did not find any visitors who needed a place for lunch, so invited us.
We enjoyed visiting with them, their three sons (left), Tim, Jon, and David, and their other guests. David’s wife, Leah, is on the right. Fourth from the left is Orpha Graybill, and next to her is Martha’s mother, Marian Minnich.
Harold & Lois Keller (2nd and 3rd on the left) were also guests today. Harold is a volunteer chaplain for TFC, at the Harrisburg and Frystown chapels.
Our hostess and host: Martha and Steve
After lunch the men went to see Steve’s shop – he owns a refrigeration business – while the ladies enjoyed some of Martha’s photos and scrapbooks. I found this picture to be incredibly interesting. It must have been taken in the late thirties, because the babies in the photo are a few years older than us.
Lois, Orpha, Martha, and Marian. Marian knew everyone on the photo, and was explaining who they were. She has Macular Degeneration and had to get close to the picture to see who it was.

We had lots of wind today – and several snow squalls.
We drove home in one of them.
Home again!
O Lord, you are a great and awesome God!
You always fulfill your covenant and keep your promises of unfailing love to those who love you and obey your commands.

Relaxing Saturday
Even the birds were relaxed.
Just hanging out
Keeping an eye on the photographer
” Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description…
…careless in the care of God.
And you count far more to him than birds.”
Matthew 6:26 The Message

I love when we can spend an entire Saturday at home
…especially the evenings when we listen to the Gaithers on RFDTV and the Grand Ole Opry on GAC.
To make tonight just perfect, the Gaithers sang one of my favorite songs. I love to hear Guy Penrod sing…
Yes I Know
Come, ye sinners, lost and hopeless,
Jesus’ blood can make you free;
For He saved the worst among you,
When He saved a wretch like me.
And I know, yes, I know
Jesus’ blood can make the vilest sinner clean,
And I know, yes, I know
Jesus’ blood can make the vilest sinner clean,
To the faint He giveth power,
Through the mountains makes a way;
Findeth water in the desert,
Turns the night to golden day.
In temptation He is near thee,
Holds the pow’rs of hell at bay;
Guides you to the path of safety,
Gives you grace for every day.
He will keep thee while the ages
Roll throughout eternity;
Though earth hinders and hell rages,
All must work for good to thee.

The Opry just came on and it’s an all-gospel-music-special!
Can a Saturday evening get any better than this?
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone.

A Quiet Celebration for Both of Us
It’s become a tradition that I celebrate my birthday by taking my sister, Nancy, to the Brickerville House Restaurant for lunch.
I was experimenting with the flash for the best lighting ~ so it was ready for the waitress to take our picture.
Another tradition is getting this delicious chicken salad.
Then we always go shopping in Country Clothes (in the same complex) to take advantage of their 50% to 70% off sale. This is about the only time in a year that I shop in a store for clothes. I am an Internet shopper. I got two jackets, a sweater, and a small black purse.
~~~
The other person sharing my birthday, is our grandson, Josh, who was thirteen today.
His celebration was even quieter than mine. He is sick with a flu.
~~~
I took these pictures of Josh during the last half year.
Josh and his cousin Nathan.
Happy Birthday!
You’re our favorite Josh in the whole world!
Each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me.
Psalm 42:8 LIV
What Will I Post Today?
It was a busy day in the office, without much time or opportunity to think about pictures.
I did have one photo left over from last night when we had a heavy thunderstorm at bedtime.
Today’s only photo was of the beautiful sunrise.
~~~
Then my photo blog was saved ~ the little boys were here for a few hours!
Ian and Jared helped their dad carry a bag of ice to the car.
Jere and Kristen needed the ice for a meal they were preparing for Josh’s class. The class is staying at school all night to help them understand how long it took Charles Lindbergh to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927 ~ thirty-three and a half hours.
My favorite pictures of the day happened after I gave Jesse his bath.
He was enamored by his image in the mirror.
Babies are so much fun!
Don’t lose your grip on Love and Loyalty.
