I’ve loved you

the way my Father has loved me.

Make yourselves at home in my love.

Wind and Scrapple

DSC_0004

The morning was rainy and fairly windy.

By afternoon the rain stopped, but the wind roared.

Wind is difficult to capture, but it sounds like winter outside.

I don’t expect most of you to understand our supper – but some of you will, and those will either like or dislike it.

We do not have eggs for breakfast, so enjoy them for an evening meal now and then.  Scrapple is rarely a side to our eggs, but I discovered a pack in the freezer the other day, and put it in the refrigerator to thaw.  It was probably given to us by Jere and Kristen after a friend butchered a pig last winter.

Cerwin enjoys scrapple, but I have to be hungry and in the right mood to add a slice to my plate.  I was apparently hungry and in the right mood, because it tasted good tonight.

 Before anyone asks:

Scrapple – skrapp’l – is pork trimmings cooked with cornmeal and seasonings, formed into a loaf, and cooled.  It is sliced and fried before serving.

He will feed his flock like a shepherd.

He will carry the lambs in his arms,

holding them close to his heart.

He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.

Family Buffet

Monday (9).JPG

We just got home from a wonderful, noisy, family gathering at a local restaurant.

Monday.JPG

There were twenty-three of us in this neat little banquet room.  Don and Gabi’s family came after the meal – making a total of twenty-seven.

Monday (1).JPG

The nice thing about using this room is that we have more privacy than being in the main part of the restaurant.  We ate from the buffet – which fit everyone’s taste and appetite.

Monday (2).JPG

The reason for this dinner was to spend time with Bob and Doris (Cerwin’s youngest sister) who are in the area for a few days.  They live in north central Minnesota.

Monday (3).JPG

Their youngest daughter, Judi, (right) is also along on this trip.  Cerwin’s mother is on the left.

Monday (4).JPG

Jordan (next to Mother Hershey) arrived a few minutes after we started.

Monday (5).JPG

Mother High enjoyed getting acquainted with our waitress.

Some of our granddaughters “borrowed” my camera and took the following pictures.

Pecan pie and ice cream completed Cerwin’s meal.

I love being with family.

In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do.

You can’t get forgiveness from God,

for instance,

without also forgiving others.

If you refuse to do your part,

you cut yourself off from God’s part.

Foggy Sunday Morning

The morning fog and sunshine created beautiful scenery.

I rarely take my camera along to church, but I had a feeling the fog would create some pretty scenes.

You’re welcome to travel along with us.

The fog ended here – about halfway through our two-mile drive to church.

Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary

Saturday.JPG

Congratulations on fifty years to my Aunt Julia and Uncle Glen.  Julia is my dad’s youngest sister.

Saturday (1).JPG

The rainy weather on the outside did not hinder the celebration on the inside.

I was asked to come to our church early to take a family photo.

I like this picture.

My contribution was setting up a PowerPoint with Julia.  We began scanning photos last winter.

Country Home Catering prepared a delicious meal.

The grandchildren were first in line…

…then picked up empty plates following the meal, and served the cake and ice cream.

Buckeyegirlie this is for you.  She asked for a close-up of the wedding dress.

He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,

peace, be still.

And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
