Driving to Curves
On a Beautiful Morning
January 9
I knew I was going to be in for a beautiful drive on this morning.
Just after leaving our driveway, I met my friends – Theda, Erma, and Sadie – who walk around the block many mornings a week, when it is cold and when it is warm. They are my heroes. (Dorinda is usually with them, but was missing today.)
After saying a few words, I traveled on toward Curves where I try to exercise a few days a week.
There are many ways I could exercise, but I feel that the resistance machines at Curves are good for my bones.
For the past fifteen years, bone density scans reveal that osteoporosis is a danger for me as I grow older, so it is not something about which I can be careless.
I could hardly believe it when I came behind an Amish buggy on a hill – facing the beautiful eastern sky.
How pretty is that?
I was barely safe to be on the road – with a camera – on this beautiful morning.
My destination – on the left.
No, I will not take you inside Curves, but tomorrow night I will show you my drive home.
Be wise in the way you act with those who are not believers.
Use your time in the best way you can.
When you talk, you should always be kind and wise.

Chapel Work
A Rainy Day for the Birds
I was at TFC’s International Office on Tuesday, January 8, to help Jane with the layout and design of four newsletters and during lunchtime went to see Cerwin in the shop.
He was doing some prep work for setting up the interior walls for the newest chapel – the one that will be going to Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Standing at the entrance door.
He was also making some new awnings for the Racine, Wisconsin, chapel.
Both awnings (emergency door and window) were hit by drivers who sideswiped the chapel.
Later in the week – January 11 – I enjoyed trying to capture a picture of this cardinal before going to my basement office.
I was successful when he went to the bird bath where I had placed some black sunflower seeds.
By afternoon it was cold and rainy.
The chickadees didn’t seem to mind the rain.
I love a rainy day!
Pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace.
Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.

Visiting Cerwin’s Mother
After the Beautiful Sunset
Tuesday Evening, January 8 (Continued)
A fence near the airport
The airport control tower.
The view with our back to the sunset.
A turn in the road had us facing the western sky again.
Arriving at Landis Homes where Mother lives.
Mother, Elizabeth, and Cerwin walking to the dining room.
When a resident saw me taking a picture of the other three, he asked if I would like to be included in the picture. He did a good job.
Elizabeth and Great Grandma.
The person who obeys my heavenly Father’s will is my brother and sister and mother. – Jesus

Sunsets Don’t Get Much Prettier Than This
Tuesday Evening, January 8
On this night we were going to have supper with Cerwin’s Mother.
Enjoy the scenery with us as we travel the country roads to where she lives.
The fence that surrounds Lancaster Airport.
More tomorrow night…
Respect and give thanks for those who try to bring bad to you.
Pray for those who make it very hard for you.

Canada Geese
Monday Evening, January 7
I got more than I bargained for when I went outside to take a picture of the sunset several nights ago.
The quiet was suddenly broken when a flock of Canada geese came into the area.
It was breathtaking to be outside on a quiet evening and hear and watch them fly overhead.
As usual I could hear their honking!
I suppose I heard it before…
…but it was interesting to hear the flapping of their wings as they flew just above our tree tops.
Then they were gone – probably to a nearby field or pond.
