 The time of the shower was noon – a great time for lunch.

Getting Acquainted Games

Saturday, April 3

When we arrived I noticed these two ladies working at the card table. I thought they were decorating cards for Becca – until the first game was announced.

Becca’s mom gave each of us a card with a name on it – then after everyone had a card, we were told to find our match.

For instance “salt” had to find…

…pepper.

Then we were told to ask the other person how they knew Becca or Kevin.

When the game began you had to introduce your partner and tell everyone how they know Kevin or Becca.

I had the easiest match because I had Becca’s name – of course she had Kevin’s name.

Welcome Table for Guests

 Each guest received a packet filled with chocolates – some Hershey Kisses of course. Becca’s future husband is my nephew whose last name is Hershey.

 We also received two soap roses.

One of the things we did as guests arrived was decorate stationary and scrapbook pages for Becca and Kevin.

Becca noticed some of her college friends visiting in the parking lot.

The shower was held at Perkasie Mennonite Church where her family attends.

Sheep & Goats

…and a car for Nathan

While at Jeff and Chris’ house for Jenna’s birthday party, I met a brand-new, baby goat. That’s her and her mama on the other side of the fence.

She and her parents share the pen with a lot of sheep.

There she is – at the age of one day.

She is inquisitive and busy.

It was difficult to get a picture of her standing still.

She is a Fainting Goat. After she becomes an adult, she will probably faint (for a few seconds) when frightened.

Isn’t that the cutest little face?

She has lots of lamb friends in the meadow.

These are twin lambs which were born a few days before her. The easiest way to tell them apart is to look at their ears and tails. The kid has floppy ears, and the lambs have longer tails.

Gloria brought a lamb to the fence for a photo.

We smiled as we watched the sheep and goats trying to get to the feed in the middle of this platform.

Jordan did that because he enjoys watching them try a variety of ways to get to the feed. Sometimes the goats jump on the platform.

Gloria put feed on the ground to bring them closer to the fence where I was standing.

Even though there was other feed, a couple of animals were always trying to get to the feed on the platform.

Johnny – the male goat – has formidable horns.

I enjoyed watching and photographing the sheep and goats.

Nathan came home from work – at a neighboring dairy farm – giving me a first look at the VW Jetta he recently bought from a friend.

A first car is always a fun purchase.

He likes the archery logos on the back window.
