This & That

Early November

Jere helps us keep a healthy lawn.

1 (3)

Election Day – just over two weeks ago.

1 (4)

We did!

1 (4a)

Cerwin and Jere needed a few things at Cabelas, so I decided to go along and show some of the neat things to the little boys.

1 (5)

Jesse, Jared, and Ian loved the large fish tank

1 (6)

1 (7)

It’s always easier to push a cart with three boys hanging on it.

1 (8)

The safari area

1 (9)

1 (10)

On the second floor looking down on animals of the mountain

1 (11)

This is one of the things they saw.

1 (12)

They loved hunting by video.

1 (13)

Jesse hunting with a game control.

1 (14)

Jared on the other side of the display, also hunting.

1 (15)

They had a lot more fun hunting with a “gun.”

1 (16)

The shooting gallery was a highlight, and occupied them for a long time.

Special Meals

Wednesday, October 27

11-17-10 (1)

It was a rainy drive through beautiful, tree-lined Lititz on our way to Oregon Dairy where we were having our quarterly lunch with the Sauder Family (Cerwin’s Mothers siblings and their children).

11-17-10 (2)

11-17-10 (3)

A small helicopter was landing as we passed the Lancaster Airport

11-17-10 (4)

11-17-10 (5)

Fall colors on a local peach orchard

11-17-10 (6)

It was a fairly small group – I think it looks like seventeen.

11-17-10 (7)

Sisters Anna and Reba

11-17-10 (8)

Cousins Leon and Cerwin – who certainly look like they are related.

11-17-10 (9)

Reba and Gerald are brother and sister. Lucy is Gerald’s wife

11-17-10 (10)

Daughter and father – Nancy and John

11-17-10 (11)

Cerwin’s cousin Blanche

11-17-10 (12)

Mel, Velda (Cerwin’s sister), and Cerwin’s mother

11-17-10 (15)

Once a year we enjoy a meal with three other couples because the ladies share something in common – our birthday’s are in February. We take turns hosting the meal.

11-17-10 (16)

This year we were at Gene and Cookie’s home. They are on the right. On their right are Gerald and Joanne, and on their right are Mark and Marcy. Cerwin is next to my empty seat.

11-17-10 (17)

After a few hours of visiting the ladies exchanged fun gifts. In this photo Marcy is opening her gift from Joanne.

11-17-10 (18)

Marcy’s gift to us was Christmas votive candles.

11-17-10 (19)

Cookie opening her gift from Joanne.

11-17-10 (20)

Cookies gift to us was this pretty Friends Forever plaque and stand.

11-17-10 (21)

Joanne watching as Marcy opens her gift.

11-17-10 (22)

These items were Joanne’s gift to us. She had taken a tour of some of Lancaster County’s undiscovered places, and bought us chocolates, an apple, chocolate covered sunflower seeds, and cashews.

11-17-10 (23)

My gift to the ladies was a hand painted jar (that I bought at the Brethren Disaster Relief Auction) and a brand of tea towel that is a favorite item in my kitchen.

I want you to know about the great and mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful power he used when he raised Christ from death and let him sit at his right side in heaven.

For Chris’ Fortieth Birthday

Wednesday, October 27

Pedicure (1)

Our daughter Deb, daughters-in-law Chris and Kristen, and me.

Our first stop was at a salon near Deb’s house for a fabulous pedicure/massage

Pedicure (2)

Pedicure (3)

I loved my pedicure/massage, but I most enjoyed watching the girls appreciate their special treatment.

Pedicure (10)

After dipping our feet in paraffin several times, they were wrapped in plastic.

Next we received a peppermint mask to relax our leg muscles.

We hadn’t planned to get manicures, but being pampered was just too much fun!

Pedicure (29)

Our last stop was Cafe 24 Hundred in DoubleTree Resort at Willow Valley where we felt like we had been transported to Europe. Each of us chose appetizers for our meal (because we saw the dessert menu).
