Us

We had a lot of fun reminiscing about our dating and youth group experiences. There were five questions that we knew about, then there were a half dozen or more impromptu ones from the audience.

~~~
After the panel discussion there was free time for visiting.
~~~

3 (4)

We took a large 32″ x 26″ framed picture of the young people who were in the youth group when we were in our last term as youth advisors.  We served two three-year terms between 1979 and 1987). The young people enjoyed it because it included pictures of many of their parents, aunts, and uncles.

3 (5)

There were pretty rose petals on the tables and window sills.

Another set of red and white decorations.

The following are some of the young people who attended the dinner. As you scroll down, you may recognize two of our grandsons – Nathan and Josh.

In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.

Mystery at Blackwood Manor

Youth Group Valentine Banquet

Part 3

Saturday, February 12

Dessert at Blackwood Manor which is located on Blackwood Estate.

2 (3)

Heart-shaped Brownies

2 (4)

2 (2)

2 (5)

Following dessert, Lady Elizabeth (Janessa), who was engaged to Lord Blackwood, welcomed us to the manor, but excused herself because she was not feeling well. She invited Lord Blackwood to host the evening.

2 (6)

Lord Blackwood (Daniel) also excused himself because he was not feeling well. He then said that his staff would entertain us.

~~~
 Suddenly the room went dark and there was a loud scream!
Someone discovered that Lord Blackwood and Lady Elizabeth were dead!
~~~

2 (7)

Enter the detective (Kirson), who was determined to find their killer, and said it had to be someone who was at the manor tonight.

2 (8)

He first asked Poe (the cook) to come to the living room. She said, “I am busy removing plates from the tables and cannot come.”

The detective said, “Find someone else to do the job.” So she handed the dishes to Seth (right) and asked him to gather plates for her.

2 (9)

Even before she sat down, she leaned into the detective’s face and said, “I have worked here for a long time. I did not kill them.”

2 (10)

The “Sherlock Holmes” detective listened and asked more questions.

2 (12)

Poe was insistent that she did not kill them, even though she did not like Lady Elizabeth.

2 (11)

The dectective asked a few more questions.

2 (13)

Poe kept on trying to convince him that she was not their killer.

2 (14)

Next he asked Ramsly the butler (Matt) to come to the living room.

2 (15)

He also had many excuses for why he did not kill the couple.

2 (16)

The detective listened and pondered his answers, and then excused the butler.

Next he summoned the maid to the living room. She said that she was busy dusting and could not come.

2 (19)

He said, “Give your feather duster to someone else.” She gave it to Derric. In this picture he is dusting his brother’s head.

2 (18)

Cinnamon the maid (Hannah) assured him that though she wished that Lord Blackwood had chosen her for his wife, and that she did not like Lady Elizabeth, she did not kill them.

Several times she asked the detective if he was single.

2 (21)

After the detective had asked her all the questions he could think of, he asked Chillingworth (Kyle) – a suspicious-acting person who was hanging out at the manor, to come to the living room.

He said he could not come to the living room because he was practicing his “moonwalk.”

The detective said, “Find some else to moonwalk.”

2 (20)

That job was given to Kurt.

2 (22)

Though Chillingworth did not have any good reasons for being at the manor tonight…

2 (23)

…he did his best to convince the detective that he had no reason for killing Lord Blackwood and Lady Elizabeth.

2 (24)

“So, who did it?”, the detective asked us.

We had a clue sheet, that when properly answered said “Nemo” which means no one.

2 (26)

While they all looked at each other suspiciously, it was discovered that Lady Elizabeth loved to walk around the estate to look for exotic teas, and had accidentally chosen a tea that was poisonous.

Conclusion: Her tea is what killed them.

That was fun!
