Live a life of love.
Love others just as Christ loved us.
He gave himself for us—a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice to God.

Spring Is Here!
Or Is It?
Pictures from the past week
We had a few beautiful – almost warm days – so I was beginning to think that the weather was going to agree with the calendar.
Spring flowers are emerging in our flowerbeds.
Crocus are a sure sign that winter is behind us. Right?
Wrong! This picture – of the same croucus – was taken the day after the previous one.
I am ready for springtime and warm weather, but, oh, this is beautiful.
If it is springtime by the calendar, it seems that I should be able to go outside barefooted.
Oh, that was cold to the bottom of my feet!
Maybe springtime will arrive tomorrow.
It did!
…and just like that the snow is gone and springtime is threatening to shove wintertime into that place reserved for cold, snow, and ice.
Maybe.
To you
O Lord
I lift my soul.
Psalm 25:1 (GOD’S WORD Translation)
Feathered Friends
Before and After Our Latest Snowstorm
I should have encouraged these two male mallards to read The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman before pursuing this female. ![]()
White-breasted Nuthatch
Because of a snowstorm that was arriving this past week, the birds were busy at our feeders.
Dark-eyed Junco
White-Throated Sparrow (white morph)
Tufted Titmouse
Mourning Dove
Song Sparrow
Junco
Cardinal
Birds that were building nests in our houses had to put nest-building on hold until this week’s snowstorm was over.
This has been a the kind of springtime where it takes faith to believe that warm weather will be arriving.
The Son of Man did not come to be served;
he came to serve
and to give his life to redeem many people.
Mark 10:45 (Good News Translation)
Pretty Lady
This pretty cardinal shows up at our feeders almost every day.
Are you taking a picture of me?
Though not at brilliant as her male partner, I enjoy seeing her in the snow.
My favorite picture of her in this set.
The tail end.
He saved us and called us to be his own people,
not because of what we have done,
but because of his own purpose and grace.

A Poem About a Mockingbird
The Mockingbird
by Maurice Lesemann
The mocking bird is the talkingest bird
That ever you’ll meet in the month of May.
He teeters and tauters high in the tree,
And he talks all night and he talks all day.
He hardly ever has time to sing
Because of having so much to say.
