April 1 ~ Waxing Crescent Moon

| Sky

I love to see the moon on a dark clear night. The moon phase calendar tells me it was a “waxing crescent” moon on April 1. 4% of it was visible and it was 2 days after new moon. Though the moon is ever-changing to our eyes with its waxing and waning, it is still the […]

This photo is by Deb, because the expressions on their faces is better than on my photo. Jana with her parents Jana and her mom – another photo by Deb. I didn’t take one of […]

The Piano Recital – Miscellaneous

In my entry yesterday, I wanted to focus on the recital and each student, so didn’t post these. Jared before the recital. He wanted a suit – would have really liked “tails” – because that is how Tom and Jerry dress for recitals. 🙂 Yes, the cartoon characters. Jere took him to Salvation Army where they found […]

By Students of Rachel Siegrist ~ Sunday Afternoon, April 6, 2014 We enjoyed a delightful recital in the chapel at Pleasant View Retirement Community. I wanted to include each student in one entry, so used more photos than I usually do. Prelude by Renee – granddaughter of Rachel. Rachel – a friend of ours – is the student’s […]

Jana Rae’s Birthday Lunch

We were delighted to be invited to Jana’s 15th birthday lunch after church on Sunday, March 30. I took a new picture for my refrigerator, but haven’t decided which one I like best. In the living room, Josh was trying to help his brothers fix an electronic problem. Deb is pleased with a new blanket […]

Friday, February 28 Harrisburg Farm Show Complex and Expo Center The little guy in red looked like he may have only been 8-10 years old. He was a great horseman. We think the others in the arena at the same time – with the same breed of horses were his family. These pictures were also […]

I think it was at the baby shower/birthday party the day before that we learned my niece Karen was baking donuts on Monday, February 17. She told us to stop in for some on the way home from our tea. (I expect her mom and sisters were also involved in the baking. They usually are.) […]

I never had – and will probably never have another birthday like this one! By Sunday evening, February 16, I had sixty cards and e-cards, plus about twice that many wishes on my blog and Facebook. After letting Nate and Abby know that the afternoon was a family baby shower, decorations had to be changed. The birthday banner (designed by Kristen) was moved to another part of our garage. Snow Birds

More pictures of the snow from Monday, February 3. By the time the snow stopped, we had about 8 inches on the ground. I felt bad for the birds, because every feeder was covered with snow. The suet was popular as it remained free of snow. Just before lunch, I decided to fill a large, […]

Beautiful Day in Maine After The Snow

Friday, January 3 We woke up to a beautiful winter wonderland on Friday morning. The mobile chicken pen in their back yard. My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
