Saturday’s Auction – Brethren Disaster Relief Auction

| BDRA

I always enjoy this auction, because it’s when some of the really interesting items are sold.    I would have loved to own this hand carved bird by Ned. However, the bidding quickly went to $1,000.00 and eventually sold for $2,200. This duck brought $1,300.00. The chickadee brought $950.00. Enjoy some of the other items for sale. One of […]

The Children’s area is a fun place for parents and children. It’s also where the children come for amazing face painting designs. The Markley’s always […]

West Hall is a popular stopping place for those who attend the Disaster Relief Auction. There are lots of homemade goodies. Pole Barn Auction and Arts & Crafts ~ Brethren Disaster Relief Auction

Tonight’s entry includes two more features from last week’s disaster relief auction.  The pole barn auction was held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. This auction includes some unique items – and is usually a great place to get a good deal. These made me smile.  The book “How to Get Running Water in Your Home – On Your Farm” […]

There are a nice variety of activities for the children at this two-day event.    I always enjoy watching children’s auctions because the children do not try to hide the fact that they are bidding. Jere’s Birthday Supper

Monday, September 23 – the evening before Jere’s forty-fourth birthday. We went to The Loft (Jere’s choice) in downtown Lancaster where our children took us for our anniversary dinner last week. This time our table was positioned along a wall where I had a good view of the attractive raftered ceiling where there is beautiful, healthy-looking greenery.    I […]

My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
