Potter’s House Pig Roast and Graduation Celebration
Saturday, June 14 We arrived about 11 am, the beginning of the pork roast meal and music program. Our friend Sam (left) was waiting for us. This is the place where the men live as they go through a program to follow Christ instead of their addictions. The women were here for the celebration as […]
Greater Celandine and Something to Ponder
It is always fun to use my flower ID ap to identify flowers in our woods. I consider this a wild weed-like flower. I did learn that it is toxic if eaten by people or animals – especially the roots – and is very invasive. I guess that is why there are so many in […]

Lauree’s 2025 Two Cousins Birthday Supper
It was certainly fun to have Nate, Lauree, Emmy and Lainey here for supper on Wednesday, June 11. Cheeseburger subs were the choice of food for the evening. Nate had a Two Cousin’s Cheeseburger sub which included ham. Emmy shared her small pizza with Lainey. Emmy was so pleased with her own pizza in a […]

Our Road During the Past Month
Obviously, there was more traffic than these, but they are the ones I chose. A rainy, hazy day. Nice enough for an open carriage. A good day for bicycling. I loved that this jogger stopped at our house for a break and to say hi – our youngest grandson.
A Funeral Was Also Part of Our Busy Weekend
Mark, Diane, and Elizabeth (from Maine) were at our house from Saturday evening to Tuesday morning for the funeral of Mark’s mother, Joanne Myers. Clockwise R to L: Nathaniel, Abby. Lydia, Natalie, Diane, Anthony, Jazzy, Mark, and Elizabeth were playing a card game in our garage when we got home from Sierra’s first birthday party […]
First Birthday Party for Sierra
We arrived a few minutes late due to the previous party for Nelson and Nancy (Yesterday’s post). Everyone was on the porch or under a tree due to the rain. We missed the candles and Happy Birthday singing. The birthday girl, Sierra, is one of our youngest great grandchildren. She is great grandchild #17 out […]

Surprise 70th Birthday and 50th Anniversary Party
Sunday, June 8 For our friends Nelson and Nancy Martin Nancy originally planned a surprise 70th birthday party for Nelson, then their children also turned it into a 50th wedding anniversary party for both of them. When they walked in the door, half the group shouted Happy Birthday and the other half shouted Happy Anniversary. […]
The Brethren Community Chorus Presents “The Attributes of God”
White Oak Church was honored to host the 126-member Brethren Community Chorus on Sunday morning, June 8. Jon Cassel, our Elder-in-Charge, welcomed everyone and introduced us to the chorus and their director. The main director, Enoch Lowry led the chorus in their first few songs and told us that his idea was to get the […]
A Busy Saturday
We started our weekend with an 11 am brunch with my siblings – all five of us – which doesn’t happen very often. The food was delicious, and the conversation the best. (Some in my family don’t like their photo being taken, so I don’t take my camera when we are together.) 🙂 My brother […]
Spreading Manure and Something to Ponder
This is the reason there is a pungent aroma in our area the past few days – especially when it is muggy and the air is coming our way. We have decided that it is chicken manure. Oh, well, it will be good for the crops. ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
