Eastern Bluebirds Were Busy This Week
Photos taken Thursday, January 30 I took these pictures during a week of windy days, so they had to be satisfied with suet. Eastern Bluebirds are so pretty and fun to watch.

Photos taken on Wednesday, January 29 at Knight and Day Diner, Lititz, PA There were 20 of us who joined Gerald Sauder in prayer before the meal. For cousins who could not be there and like to see these pictures, this table includes (l to r): Mel, Velda, Gerald, Leon, Walter, Joyce, Dianne, John, Rhoda, […]
Sunday Evening, January 26 at BIC Warehouse near Manheim. This includes Cerwin’s Pennsylvania siblings and some of their family members. We always miss the out-of-state family (Bob & Doris Stauffer’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchild) at these meals. We had a fairly small group this year, but that didn’t keep us from enjoying the delicious […]
Photos taken Wednesday evening, January 22 The sunset got prettier as I walked towards the road. As I got closer, then zoomed in with my camera, it looked like fire in the sky.
Due to her death at age 52, it has been 51 years since we last saw or talked with her. 1922 – a baby picture of her – Florence Hawthorne 1943 – Florence Hawthorne Hershey – the day she married my dad. About 1950 – Mother and me. 1963 – at our wedding reception. 1973 […]
Good’s Disposal, you have a good man on our road this morning. Just as he went to pick up the red box of recyclables, a strong wind blew several pieces of cardboard away. He picked up each piece, even the one that went way out into the field.
Photos taken, Wednesday, January 22 Anthony, Cerwin and I did a new job at Blessings (Leola) this time. Trimming Brussels sprouts was something we had never done before. The white bucket is for the trimmings that we were throwing away. You can see a good bag of Brussels sprouts just beyond Cerwin. The filled bags […]

~~~ Monday, January 20 ~~~ By morning it had stopped snowing, and our road was open, but still snow covered. When examining the yard, we wondered what left these tracks – probably an animal that had to jump – because of the distance between each track. Facing east toward the back part of our yard. […]
~~~ Monday, January 20 ~~~ I looked outside to see this beautiful view. I went outside for another view. From my outside position (next to the garage door), I looked up and saw a snow overhang. It was a nice, cold day to be able to stay inside after taking these pictures.
~~~ January 19 ~~~ Sunday lunch was quite an experience because of the snowstorm. It was about a week ago that I invited three couples from church to join us for lunch, not knowing there would be a snowstorm. On Saturday, I called each couple to give them an opportunity to postpone the meal to […]
~~~ Friday, January 17 ~~~ We always enjoy the concerts that are held at New Covent Church, and this night was no different. They are scheduled several times a year. A bonus is the delicious food that is served. This time it was sausage sandwiches and chicken corn soup, plus coffee, donuts, sodas, water, and […]
~~~ Photos taken – Wednesday, January 15 ~~~ For some reason I became fascinated with the bare trees that line our Pennsylvania landscape right now. It happens every fall and winter when the dying leaves can no longer resist gravity and wind. They are a reminder of the seasons on our yearly calendars, also the […]
~~~ Thursday, January 16 ~~~ Birds are always fun to watch when it snows. I put some peanuts out, which I like to do when it snows. This is not a feeder, but the small table between our patio chairs. That only works in winter. I also use the old, cracked birdbath for a feeder. […]
