~~~ Wednesday, November 6 ~~~ Our friend Glenn enjoys blessing people with bluebird houses. He supplies everything including the pipe and birdhouse. He and Cerwin installed it next to an old tree stump so Cerwin doesn’t have an extra thing to mow around. He builds a beautiful and sturdy birdhouse with a place to open […]
It is always surprising how quickly our trees and leaves go from peak colors of yellow, orange and red to winter with most of the leaves gone in just a few days.
~~~ Sunday, November 3 ~~~ What fun to find these items in our church mailbox. Everything was tied together with the thin rope in a very creative way. This note was in an envelope in pieces. I had to put the puzzle together to read her note. The trail mix is delicious. My favorite gift […]

~~~ Sunday Morning, November 3 ~~~ It is rare for us to see hot air balloons, so we were pleased to see this one. For a while we thought it was going to land in the field across from us, but then it went higher and floated toward the south and out of sight.
This was probably the fourth or fifth horse and carriage we saw going by our house – and it was a Saturday – not a day for an Amish wedding. Maybe they were helping to prepare for something special. It is usual for us to see one or two because we have a few Amish […]
~~~ Friday, November 1 ~~~ Our granddaughter Abby and her husband Nathaniel are expecting a baby in a few weeks (our 19th great grandchild). One day she mentioned to her sister Lydia that with a busy summer and fall, four other children, plus homeschooling, she was feeling rather unprepared for the baby. Lydia and Aunt […]
I know I will see Eastern Bluebirds when I put mealy worms in the feeder.
It is the time of year when sunrises are visible from our house windows, and with the corn harvested from the field in front of the house, sunrises are taking my breath away again. As I turned toward the house, I noticed how the morning sun highlighted a few of our impatiens.
~~~ Tuesday, October 29 ~~~ It was shortly after noon when I heard the corn harvester in the field next to our yard. Before long the smaller corn harvester head was dropped and exchanged for a larger one for harvesting soybeans across the road. Notice the small harvester head in the field and the trailer […]
~~~ Wednesday, October 30 ~~~ Walter Kolb (standing) praying for our meal. There were 22 of us this time. It was good to see our cousin Gloria (left in pink). She and her husband moved back to Pennsylvania after living in Ohio for many years. To the cousins. Our next lunch is January 29, 2025, […]
It is delightful to see the sunrises from our house again as we enter the late fall season. Notice the short stubby branches on the left side of the tree on the right. That happened because another tree was crowding out those branches. We had that tree cut down a few weeks ago. It will […]

This view from our window seemed like a beautiful scene to capture.
We took soup and a slice of grape pie to a friend, then went to a Christian bookstore to get new giant print Bibles for our old eyes. 🙂 Many of the leaves are beyond peak in our area, but we still found a few pretty trees while traveling home. Fall is so beautiful to […]
Lunch at Two Cousin’s Restaurant – Jeff and Cerwin. You know we are old when our oldest child is 60! We had a great time catching up on each other’s lives. Cerwin and Jeff each had a cheesesteak stromboli. I had a most delicious cheese pizza. Every now and then I get hungry for a […]
