Philadelphia Flower Show – Part 1
~~~ Tuesday, March 5 ~~~ In Part 1 of the Flower Show, I will give some details about the show and our day. In my next entry I will post a lot of beautiful flower pictures. When thinking about vacations and trips for 2024, we decided to go with bus trips. Cerwin doesn’t enjoy driving […]
Donovan’s Birthday Lunch
~~~ Sunday, March 3 ~~~ What fun to have Donovan and Diana’s family here for a Two Cousins lunch – to celebrate Donovan’s February birthday. Diana and the boys shared a Cheese Pizza while Donovan enjoyed a Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak and Cerwin and I shared a Cheese Steak. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the boys play […]
Ladies’ Fellowship Brunch
~~~ Saturday Morning, March 2 ~~~ This is one of my favorite days of the year because the carport entrance and fellowship hall at our church are beautifully decorated, the food is amazing, and the fellowship and speaker is always the best. A place for donations (there is no charge for the morning) and a […]
Backroad Scenes and Something to Ponder
It was a day in late February when we took some backroads and slightly unfamiliar roads – just for fun, to visit friends who are rebuilding from a barn fire and enjoy lunch with a gift card. After lunch, we got between this group of riders at a traffic light, so slowed down to allow […]
An Evening with Nate and Abby’s Family
~~~ Sunday, February 25 ~~~ Following a pizza supper at our house – for Abby’s birthday – we played Ticket to Ride. Anthony learned to play it recently and wanted to play it with us. Around the table: Anthony, Cerwin, Nate, Abby and Natalie. Renee and Jasmine were playing in the toy room. We hadn’t […]
Something to Ponder
These two snowy pictures in my file, versus today’s sunny spring-like weather reminded me of one of my favorite poems, Contentment.
Meeting Aleah Grace
~~~ Friday, February 23 ~~~ Zach and Gloria were delighted to introduce us to their sweet little Aleah who was born on Valentine’s Day – February 14. It’s been about half a year since we held a new-born baby. She is our 15th great grandchild. We look forward to watching her grow up.
A Birthday Party for Renee
~~~ Thursday Evening, February 22 ~~~ It’s always fun to attend a birthday party for a one-year-old. They have no idea of what is going on, but they have fun when all the attention is on them. Supper was a delicious blend of vegetables, meat, and cheese baked in a cookie sheet. There was also […]
Birthday Breakfast with Jere
~~~ Tuesday, February 20 ~~~ I drove into the beautiful sunrise to meet Jere at Stonehouse Cafe in downtown Clay. Jere (our third child and youngest son) usually takes me out for breakfast for my birthday – and my 80th was no different. Oh, what fun to have this special hour with him. Pretty plants […]
Brunch with a Friend and Something to Ponder
~~~ Wednesday, February 21 ~~~ This was Cookie’s birthday, so I invited her out for brunch. We don’t see each other very often these days, but we sure have fun catching up. We became friends in the early ’70s when our children were small – and she was a brand-new Christian. We hung out together […]
New Electric Poles
We have been watching this process for many months, as these skilled workmen installed new electric poles in our neighborhood. We knew they were soon going to be working in front of our house, when they laid a “road” of strong skids through the fields that connected with this field – from north to south. […]
Our Updated Bathroom
I took a few pictures of what our bathroom has looked like since 1967 when we built the house. We changed a few things like the window dressing – from curtain to venetian blind to solar blind and of course we changed a few other things, like decorations and towel colors. 🙂 Our toilet was […]
Sportsman’s Dinner at Ephrata Business Center
~~~ Saturday Evening February 17 ~~~ We always enjoy this interesting program. I was looking forward to this one because the speaker was Jason Caldwell. He is an experienced falconer with many interesting stories and lots of information. I think this is the third or fourth time I have listened to one of his presentations. […]
