Marasmiaceae Mushrooms
I enjoy seeing mushrooms in our yard during this rainy, humid season of summer. The big highlight on my phone app says, “Do not eat these. They are poisonous.”
Rest in the Lord and be willing to wait for Him. Psalm 37:7 (NLV)

Planting corn in the field beside our yard was very late this year due to so much rain. It was finally planted on June 25 when the field was dry. Corn in this field is often 5 to 6 foot tall by this time of year. I love watching new corn coming up out of […]
~~~ Thursday, July 10 ~~~ Howard and Pat (from Connecticut) usually spend a week or so in Lancaster County each summer – mostly to go to Sight and Sound. They often contact us about meeting them at Yoder’s for a buffet supper. Howard has been involved with Transport For Christ almost from its beginnings in […]
We met Ana for the first time this week, even though Anthony has been keeping us updated with pictures that came from her owner. This is a business adventure with his parents as they raise her to have puppies in a few years when she is mature. Anthony’s job is to train and care for […]
In a previous post I told you about installing the rafters over the newly enlarged feedlot. This week they began installing the roof and finishing the siding on the south end of the Homestead barn. They were working on other details and the siding during the week. Today they are adding the finishing touches. If […]
~~~ Tuesday, July 8 ~~~ This restaurant is one of Roy and Deb’s favorite’s and is not far from their house. We had an hour drive. I love a pretty drive on a nice summer day. Roy, Deb, Cerwin, and Me – a photo by our delightful waitress. I rarely get French toast or waffles […]
We love you! Grandpa and Grandma High
We see this pretty scene every time we drive home after being away. I expect these flowers at the Homestead are by Steph (who loves flowers).
The other day when I was taking pictures of the rafters being placed on the feedlot part of the barn, I had to walk by the calf pens to get a few of the pictures. This is only four of them. They are so cute.
~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
~~~ Monday, June 30 ~~~ When we were at the Hershey Picnic the day before, our niece Karen told me they were installing rafters on the feed lot the next day if I wanted to get pictures. Cerwin and I went to the farm about 9 am to see what was happening. By that time, […]
~~~ Sunday, June 29 Noon My siblings and their families ~~~ I was having so much fun talking to people who I don’t see very often and almost forgot to take pictures. 🙂 We were in one of the buildings on Kevin and Amy’s (my niece) farm. We don’t have far to travel – maybe […]
~~~ Sunday, June 29 ~~~ This is what I found in our church mailbox on Sunday. I should have taken a picture of one of these chocolates cut in half so you could see the inside which included freeze-dried strawberries. However, if you look at the bottom of the previous photo you can see what […]
Yesterday, we decided to go to Big John Nolt’s Deli near Stevens because we have been hearing about their delicious, prepared foods and meals. We used our GPS because we had never been there and weren’t sure of the location. It is about 10 miles from our house. As I went in the door and […]
~~~ Saturday, June 28 3:00 pm ~~~ I loved their guestbook. Everyone signed a Jenga block. Everyone knew that only the professional photographer could take photos during the ceremony. We were privileged to sit in the reserved area of the chapel at Manheim Brethren-in-Christ Church. Family members were some of the earliest guests to arrive. […]
